When I think of Champagne, I think of celebration. Champagne is fun. It is an experience from the time you hear the popping of the cork to the fizzing sound as it is poured carefully into a pretty glass. Tiny light bubbles, dance upwards and give you a tickling, sweet feel as you take your first sip.
This parallels my feeling when I take a picture. I feel excitement at that moment when I see something I know I am meant to photograph. There is a flutter/celebration inside my heart when the photograph comes out the way I saw it in my mind.
Sunshine is light. It brightens. It warms. It creates patterns and shadows. It can be fleeting and moody. For me, it is all of those things and more. It makes me happy. I want to photograph it as it changes colors throughout the day. I want to capture its effect on everything it touches.
To know me is to know that I am spontaneous, adventurous and I love exploring. I take my camera with me everywhere so that I can share my experiences with others.
I love to travel. I tend to favor places that are surrounded by nature. When I am outside, I become aware of details that might be overlooked or taken for granted by others. I find beauty in everything from a sunset to a pinecone. This, coupled with smells and sounds, triggers a feeling of awe and gratefulness for the world we live in.
Yet, cities have a lot to offer as well. I enjoy the people and energy of the cities. People have always fascinated me. Each person has a unique life story and I love hearing it. Every new person I meet helps me to see the world from a different point of view.
My home for the last four years has been in Milford, MI. Here, I am surrounded by over 19,000 acres of recreation areas, in addition to an amazing community of artists and friends. The Village Fine Arts Association/Suzanne Haskew Art Center has provided me with opportunities to display my work and learn more about other art mediums.
Every year, I take new steps into pursuing my passion for art and this website is now one of those steps.
